Fred Levine
Therapist~ Dr. Fredric Levine is a clinical psychologist, seeing patients in his Port Jefferson office. He currently accepts only patients who are not using insurance.
Essayist~ Fred now writes monthly columns for the Long Island Pulse; before that, he was a monthly columnist for the The Improper. His articles are always informative and entertaining. Fred has no fear of being controversial.

Academician~ Fred received his Ph.D. at Northwestern University. He became a researcher at Harvard Medical School and then professor of clinical psychology and director of the psychological center at The State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Fred is author of three books and many articles. "Winning the Homework War" was featured in Reader's Digest He has lectured around the world; he has appeared on national TV and BBC worldwide.
Citizen~ Fred was the founder of the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council. He was Chair of the Port Jefferson Planning Board and served as a Trustee and Building Commissioner of the Village.
Academically, Fred founded
- the Volunteers for Psychiatric Patients while at Stony Brook. Under his direction, up to 400 student volunteers went to psychiatric hospitals to help meet recreational needs of patients.
- the Epilepsy Association of Suffolk County with Sister Rita, of the Daughters of Wisdom at St. Charles Hospital
- the Spina Bifida Association
- the Parents of Retarded Children.
